Default Clutch/Trans issue

Was driving the car today and did a 2nd gear pull and heard a terrible noise from the trans/clutch. Was able to drive it home all the while making a ticking noise. I ordered a clutch kit already thinking it needed to be replaced as it makes a ticking noise anywhere over 3k rpm and a random rattle at idle. The noise doesn’t go away with clutch engagement either which makes me think it’s a torque tube issue. When I got the car home I put it in neutral and put the e-brake up. When I stepped out the car slightly lurched forward and died. Now the only way the car will roll is if the clutch is pressed. It will go into every gear but will not move unless I have the clutches pressed in. Has anyone had this happen? Hoping it’s just the clutch but thinking it could be the input shaft? Any thoughts?

The car will only roll in neutral when the car is off. It’s also weird because it will go into gear no matter if it’s running or not.

Car will not move regardless of what gear it’s in. I can put the shifter in reverse but it won’t move

It’s not that the clutch is slipping at all though. I think it was a bad throw out bearing that caused something to happen when I made a pull through 2nd. It’s also weird that I was able to drive the car home with no noticeable difference in driveability other then the loud ticking noise. It wasn’t until I was home with the car in neutral and e brake up that it slightly lunged and stalled. Since then the only way the car rolls is if the clutch is pressed (running or not) or if the car is off and in neutral.

Read this yesterday, not being any kind of expert waited for others input.
My very first thought was TOB, also.
Hard 2nd pull made a failing bearing finally fail.
Bet car sees more than its share of 'hard pulls', so...

Rear needs to come out & thoroughly inspected to determine exactly what failed.
Here's where access to a competent C6 wrench comes in handy.

Long as it's out though new clutch disk/plate etc really should be replaced. No time to be penny-wise & dollar foolish.
Heck, might make sense replacing fuel sending units at the same time, also.

IMO it's all about labor $ w/ C6 rear ends & fuel pumps. YMMV
G/L, keep thread updated.

Thankfully I have a good friend who knows his way around cars, and has done a ton of work on his and others. Got it in his trailer last night to head to his shop. Thankfully this is a good friend and labor will be reasonable. Keep your fingers crossed!

I'll keep everyone updated in case something similar happens to someone else.

As long as the parking brake is off, this make no sense. Neutral is neutral, the clutch is now out of the equation, it should roll; running or not, if the brake is off.

Right, that's why we are so confused. It doesn't make any sense. I will keep everyone updated once my buddy gets into it.

We are thinking the bearings in the torque tube are seized. The rattling noise even initially didn’t go away with the clutch engaged or not. Now might have to try and find a used one.
