Default C6 Hot Center Console?

Is anyone experiencing their center console getting hot during long drive or on warm days? We have released a new kit to stop the heat from making your C6 uncomfortable to drive. P#050532. Check it out at www.designengineering.com

I thought the heated console was a option... so you could heat and reheat food while driving ... now I am bummed out... it’s not supposed to do that?

This kit works well enough to keep your chocolate in bar form!

Install this kit and you should have a much better piece of mind about the heat and your personal items in your console. Check it out at Corvette Central, Zip Products, or at Designengineering.com. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Tim

This was GM's "CO6" option. AKA Convection Oven 6.

two things:

- install the center heat shield under the car.
- install the premium insulation kit from vettenuts..

It'll go way down then, and stop carrying your carry in the center console

Only had my Corvette 2 months and today was the first super hot day - 98F. 5 weeks ago we had 18" of snow.... Anyway I did have a few things in the console and was quite surprised to find how hot it was inside!

I’m curious, as I just bought my first Z, where the hell do you keep a carry weapon in one of these cars? Do you use a specific mount? I had a hell of a time finding somewhere reasonable to keep the damn thing with me. Lol

It’s also worth noting I’ll definitely be looking into one of these products. It’s expensive but 90* weather today during a two hours drive heated the cabin up pretty well.

This product wasn't designed to specifically save candy bars from melting. Although it seems to help. More to help the driver be more comfortable by keeping the heat coming thru the console off of them. Pricing may vary depending on what store you shop with. Check it out on Corvette Central or Zip Products.

Thanks, Tim

I would recommend dropping just the center section of the exhaust. It will make installation a lot easier.

Thank you, Tim

My apologies. I’ve caused some confusion here. Clearly no ordinary chocolate bar of which I speak.
