Default C6 Door Insulation Kit

I will also post this in the audio section. Figured I'd get a faster response here. I am working on the drivers door trying to remove the black (vapor barrier?). How do you get it off? That black snot is strong!

Never tried that myself, how about heating it with a hair dryer or heat gun on low setting to loosen up the adhesive

Might give it a try. It's bad!

Razor blade worked!

Plastic putty knife works very well also, and you can't slice your finger open with one.

Warm it up with a hair dryer and pull. I've taken them off and reinstalled if you can manage to not let it get stuck to itself.

What are you putting in its place? Would like to see pics of your final process.

Default Vette Nuts Kit

I'm a rookie and have no idea what I'm doing which is why it may look like Stevie Wonder helped me! This is a Vettenuts Kit. I'm doing it in stages. Already did the rear hatch area. Will do the passenger door next week. Then the main interior after the first of the year. Driver's door almost done. One thing I'm concerned is if I'll have clearance issues putting the panel back on. We shall see.

Go ahead and let me know if you see something wrong. I can take it! LOL.
I'm going to start putting it back together in about 30 minutes
Actually gonna wait a few hours until my son gets home to help put the
#%€+#~ panel on! (In the past I've tried it all the ways suggested and still have a fight with it). Can't wait!

There are a couple of good threads regarding this type of install. The sound deadening usually goes inside the door in the same fashion you have it now. Place it on the inside of the outer door skin.

It's closed up but I did that too. Takes a lot of time.....a LOT of time. But, it's only time! Any maybe I'll hear the difference but I'm not expecting a lot of difference.

If you are covering the inside of the door then you will definitely hear a difference. Are you covering the tunnel and cargo area as well?

Sorry for bringing back an OLD thread I started but I never answered this question. I did do inside of the door and outside of the panel (as shown). We did the tunnel and cargo area. Very good results. Console still gets worm but NOT hot. Interior is quiet. I did not realize how much quieter until in rode in my brother in laws 2008 base.

That's the easiest way to do it.
