Six Part Numbers?

Six Part Numbers?
For nine model years, there are six (count 'em) SIX part numbers for the HVAC control module.
Current Part Number (25938052), Obsolete Part Numbers (15222526, 15858813, 15235202, 10385389, 10395614).
Plus the AC-Delco number of 15-73932.
I get that parts get revisions, but I'm curious about what was changed over the years. All six part numbers interchange.
Oh, and it's a "joy" when the module takes a dump on a bright, sunny 90+ degree day in Florida.

Already bought and installed the new unit.
It worked great until I parked in the sun while grabbing dinner.
Tore everything apart again and double checked the fuses.
Fuses looked fine.
Power at the switched leads.
No power at the B+ lead.
Hmmmmm.
Change that fuse even though it looked fine.
Power at the B+ lead now.
I think it's fixed now... knock on wood.
And I have a spare HVAC controller in excellent cosmetic condition as well as the new one I'm leaving installed in the dash.
