Mine occasionally hits, only when closing. Reaching around and pulling it forward is made more difficult for me since I have a Windrestrictor. I really should get around to shortening the two elastic straps one of these days.

Going to clean the top and I've been watching some YouTube videos on what to use. Ragg Topp and 303 appear to be the best, with 303 having betting a better water repellent sealant after cleaning.
Then I started looking on Amazon for a horsehair brush. I guess we don't want to scrub too hard on the fabric top. All the horsehair brush reviews are terrible with bristles coming out everywhere.
Any suggestions on a good brush??

ONE OF MY WORST AMAZON PURCHASES. I purchased this brush to clean my Audi's convertible top. The hairs started to come out while I was washing a small section and they in bedded into the canvas top. It was awful and it took me 15 minutes to get all the little hairs off and out of the small section of the top that I used the brush on. Removing the hundred hairs wasn't as easy as just rinsing them off or brushing them off like you would think! This brush is a joke. So, to finish cleaning the top I simply used a somewhat soft nylon brush I had laying around and it worked great. In summery, this brush isn't worth a nickel unless your goal is to have a million horse hairs stuck to whatever it is that you use this thing on!! Oh, on another topic the RADDTOPP cleaner that I used did a fantastic job.

The reviews on that one are horrible. Users make it sound like most the bristles just fall out!!

The brush is smaller than the picture shows, but didn't shed hairs for me. The cleaner and brush did a nice job, but the big disappointment was the fabric protectant! I followed the instructions and applied multi-layers, letting it dry between applications. Since then, I've driven the car several times in the rain and the top still gets saturated like it did before the treatment. Granted, it dries very fast after the rain stops, but not worth the effort, or cost! The next time I may try the 303 product.

Jeff did you find a good brush for the convertible top? I have both the ragtop and 303 cleaner/protectant, but have yet to pick up a brush.
I watched that video and it does seem like 303 has a better protectant

Not too expensive, something like $12.00.

Top Protectant a good idea?
What are your opinions on using protectant on a top that will never see rain or sun? Is it still a good idea to protect against dirt/staining or would the fewer the chemicals used on the top be better?
My verts are strictly pleasure drivers, and only on rare occasions do they get driven with the top up. I do try to store them with the top for the same reasons many on this thread have posted. So they do get rather dusty in my garage. Hoping the wife comes through with a cover for my new addition this Father's Day.
Thanks for the input!
