I purchased my 06vert about 2 years ago and since buying it the traction control button doesn't work. I thought maybe it was because I didn't have TPMS but after installing new wheels with them I still can't get it to work.
When I press it / hold it nothing shows up. Car has just over 80k miles.
What steps should I take to diagnose it? I didn't completely remove the center console but did enough to see it is plugged in.
I had my car tuned and they couldn't get an accurate reading due to not being able to turn traction control off.
You may need to more fully remove the console for a good close look. We've had a few cases over the years of owners in this situation finding that the button was physically broken under the console. So it may look plugged in but be broken enough that it doesn't work.
You could also check for OBD II codes. If you don't have your own code reader, places like Autozone, etc, will read the codes for free.
Please let us know whatever you determine the problem is.
The switch in mine stopped working a year or so ago, replaced it & haven't had any problems since. Removing the center console bezel and getting access to the switch is relatively easy; there are YouTube videos on how to remove the bezel if you're not familiar with how to do it & here's a link to the switch I purchased:
