Who cares?
Who cares if someone else has black or chrome wheels on their car? If you have the style you like on yours, what does it matter?
Who cares if someone else has a coupe, vert, or fixed roof? If you have the model you like, what does it matter?
Who cares if someone else mods their car, or doesn't? If you have or have not to your own car to your own satisfaction, what does it matter?
Who cares how someone else drives, or does not drive, their car? If you track, daily drive, show, weekend cruise, or in any way use your car that makes you happy, what does it matter?
Who cares if someone has a manual or auto trans in their car. If you have the one you wanted, what does it matter?
Who cares if you like the cars that show up to a car show? If you don't like a car, and you're not a judge for the show, move on to the next. There are plenty to look at.
Now if you have the audacity to call your base car with the Z51 option a C6 Z51, or heaven forbid actually put a Z51 badge on your car, you will be struck down in a blaze of fire, lightning, and thunder by the Corvette car gods where you stand.
But aside from this.....who cares?
Personally, I don't give a flying f**k what anyone else thinks of my car, how I've modded it, or how I use my car. It's MY CAR. I drive it how I want, modded it to my liking, and enjoy the hell out of every second I spend on, under, around, or in it. That's all that matters. Who cares what anyone else thinks?

I don't care.
I also don't give my opinion unless it is asked for. Too much of that here for sure.

It seems to mostly be perpetrated by the radical conformist-types, who are also drawn to the hyper-conformist Harley lifestyle where the herding instinct seems to rule over everything else.
If you don't live your life, treat your car, etc. exactly as I do then you are to be trashed and ridiculed just like you were back in high school.
I like to joke around with this stuff on occasion, but that's all it is and I think that is obvious. Some people are deadly serious about it. I think it falls under a psychiatric disorder called "bovine personality disorder."
They tend not to be suicidal, nor to "go postal," so it certainly is okay to ridicule them.

Ed: Agree with you 100%. What I do with/to my car is what I like & want. When I post about the things I do, I don't ask for opinions, I'm just sharing and to, maybe, give others ideas. If someone does post a negative opinion in response, I ignore it.
When others post what they've done that I like, I'll post a positive comment. If it's something I don't care for, I'll move on without comment. Now if someone asks for an opinion or posts a poll, I'll respond (sometimes) and, if I do, somewhere in my response you will normally see a comment something like, 'but it's your car and your opinion is the only one that counts.'
We all purchased our vehicles for different reasons, purposes & uses; no one of which is any better or worse then any other, nor is how we chose to modify them (or not). The one thing we all have in common is our love & enthusiasm for an American icon.

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
Ed, unless it’s Inferno Orange Metallic with gloss black wheels it’s not really a Corvette anyway...
Minus putting badges on your car making it appear to be something it’s not (Z51, Z06, Grand Sport, etc.) - because all you’re doing is trying to pass the car off to others as a different model I don’t really care either.
Though this phenomenon occurs with pretty much every car make: Camaro SS badges on non-SS cars, GT or Cobra badges on base Mustangs, hell people put Rubicon decals on non-Rubicon Jeeps. I was surprised to see it so often on Corvettes though.

As I've noted elsewhere, I've never run across this silly type of thinking until I came to CF. I'll be nice and call it juvenile.
