Default Vanity light

How do you take the vanity lights out? They're the only thing left that's not led and I can't get them out.

I tried tape, tried pulling, tried pressing lighting and pulling with needle nose pliers, I even tried taking the mirror out and pushing the damn light out with a jewelers screw driver. It's like they're glued in there.

What else can I do to take the out for an led swap? So far seems impossible

Make a lasso out of a small zip tie. Attach another zip tie to the tail of the lasso in order to extend the handle. Loop the light bulb, hold the loop secure to the bulb with one finger and pull straight down. Should pop right out.

The sun visor mirror bulbs?
Many stories of futile attempts.
Lasso technique as above has had success stories.
Keep searching for more info about all the tricks.

FWIW Best success I saw was a utube video for a chev truck with similar visors.
Loosen mirror surround, slide our mirror to gain full easy access of the bulbs.

I struggled, I ended up braking 3 of the 4 original bulbs and then it was a chore to get the new LED bulbs in. If I had to do it again I wouldn't LOL

If you really want to do it I wish you luck and you may end up breaking them to get them out.

Best of Luck!

In a recent post on this subject someone said they had good luck using heat shrink over the bulb after letting the bulb heat up by turning on. Then yanking on the heat shrink . Good luck.

This is what I did and it worked
While it worked I remember it still taking a few tries.

I also read someone using heat shrink. They put it on the bulb and once tight they pulled on the other end and the bulb came right out.

Yup! This is what happened on my previous C6. Really frustrating experience. I wanted to change it for the same reason as the OP. I changed all the other interior lighting to LEDs. I decided to not even bother with those lights on the Z06. I never use the mirror on the visor anyways.

Good luck if you decide to do so!
