I did it!!
I few months back I was considering trading in my 2013 Camaro ZL1 on c6 Z06. Well today I did it! Picked up a 2008 Z06 with 25k on it. It's bone stock. No mods at all. Things pulls like a fright train. Anything I should look out for? Thanks, Bill

From one Jersey guy to another, very nice.
As for what to watch for, the whole valve issue, HB wobbles, and tire wear are the main things.

Congrats. The C6Z is an awesome car. Yours looks great! A small percentage of LS7's had valve train issues. Would not be a bad idea to have it checked by a reputable shop.

That is one sharp looking ride! I have always loved black cars (own a '68 'Stang that's black), because when they are clean they are very sleek and classy looking. Nice choice!

HB's aren't nearly an issue w/LS7 as they are w/ LS2/3.
Been driving my '08 w/60K & HB's solid as a rock.
Tires aren't inexpensive so premature wear's cause for concern, all Corvettes come from factory w/ a neg camber, meant for tracking.
Cruisers see significant inside wear due to neg camber & are pissed seeing outside & centers have good tread left.
Solution's using Pfadt 'Performance Street' specs when new skins are installed: http://www.pfadtracing.com/blog/wp-c...-9.12.2011.pdf
Heads.
Minimally a good shop must thoroughly inspect heads! Specifically looking for loose valve stem(s) due to worn guides.
Lots of debate what's behind guide wear but what isn't debatable is if due to a worn guide a valve breaks it's ingested trashing entire motor.
New/replacement LS7s are NOT cheap, so BE proactive w/ this matter.
Many of us Z06 owners have our heads rebuilt, much info re heads et al @ C6 Z06 forum.
C6 Z06s are special, big part is the tremendous power LS7 generates w/o air pumps. Unreal MPG if/when not fluffed, also.
Power's a 2-side sword, though.
Learn the behavior of Z06's power/chassis before going nuts WOT.
If not chances of destroying car, yourself and/or others is very real when rear snaps-out so fast nannies can't intervene & save your bacon.
Take care of it & it'll take care of you, learn its ways.
Mt Z will be back early next week from head rebuild, cam & dyno.
Kind of excited.
Welcome to the fraternity of C6 Z06 owners.
