Okay so here's the deal I went had four tires balanced on my 2005 z51 and continues to have a pulsing vibration minor at 90 they use those flat sticky weights not sure if one fell off but I'm going to have all four rebalanced and if that's not the problem what could it be. Anyone? Thank you
Having the tires road force balanced is an absolute must on a Corvette. They may need to remove the tires & rotate them on the rim to get them properly balanced.
I bought the car in Feb and here in maine, haven't had a chance to take it up to the speeds of the vibration till now on the pike. The fronts have 9/32 left...90% and rears have 6/32 but the rears seem to be a little more warn in the middle vs outsides.
Hmm. I don't know how much I'd invest in working on tires I don't know the history of, for a minor vibration. There's more to tires than just tread depth.
And....it drives flawlessly 85 and under and is even less noticable at 100. Don't think ill be doing 90 very much anyhow lol. Sounds like your saying go till I need new rubber which sounds like a plan.
A couple of other things to consider. Make sure your mating surfaces are clean (rim to rotor), if you do a roadforce balance make sure the numbers are under 10, preferably under 5 and make sure your lug nuts are tightened to 100 ft/lbs. Any tighter and you might get a vibration, it has happened to me.
