I have an 05 Convertible with a nav radio. Is there a simple way to add a USB port to connect my iPod or is there an aftermarket set up with USB so that the nav still works through the HUD?
Or can I get a newer GM radio that will fit with the same features?

Thank you!
you can switch to a 2012-2013 nav head unit that has USB.You will also need the matching console from 2012-2013 with USB port
ISGM655 (about $100), and will give you not only USB into the radio that can be used to charge the phone, but blue tooth into the radio as well.
As for how it works, will be using a XM band on the radio to pipe into the radio. I bring this up, since if your don't have the XM band activated on the nav radio, will need to have such done with a Tech II after the ISGM655 is installed.
As for install, pretty simple since it connects between the radio connector with plug and play connectors.
As for later nav unit, gets a little more complex with steering wheel controls (have to replace the steering wheel, clock spring, air bag), plus do so wiring harness modes to not only the Steering wheel controls, but the USB connector that will be in the rear of the center console as well.
