Shift to reverse

It is "probably" the switch located on the trans. The '05 (only) M6 has two (2) switches on the side of the trans case, one for the reverse lights, the other for the computer to shut down. I'm pretty sure they are the same switch. If you want to just throw parts at it hoping it's the switch I suggest you replace both at the same time.
