'13 GS vert bought new - 5 year report w/ 50,000 miles
My car will be 5 years old on June 24th and yesterday I passed the 50,000 mile mark on the odometer. It has been a blast. My initial plan was to keep the car for 5 years and then get a C7 but as each day and mile goes by the car becomes that much cooler. I will eventually get a new 'vette, but for now I am totally happy & satisfied. I did mention to my wife that my relationship with the car is bordering on the unhealthy. When asked to elaborate, I stated, "it's just a machine yet it gives me so much pleasure. And all it asks for in return is 91 octane." Other than routine maintenance, here is its repair history:
At 22,659 dealer replaced the rubber windshield cowl under warranty to cure buzzing sound in lower windshield at highway speed. At 24,256 the brake booster was replaced under warranty. At 30,775 I paid for an ACDelco battery replacement and had the dealer enable the "afterblow" feature which eliminated the stinky smell from the a/c vents. At 43,240 I started to smell gas in the garage after the vehicle sat. Dealer replaced fuel pump module for free under GM Special Policy 15682.
FYI: the factory Goodyear tires lasted until the mid-17,000 mile range. I replaced them with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A run-flats and 32,500 miles later I still have tread and don't expect to replace for another 10,000 miles.

I too have a 2013 GS (coupe not convertible) but I just barely hit 13k miles. I don't put to may miles on it because I don't really drive on a regular basis any more. I work from home full time and I have 2 cars. I am actually thinking about getting new tires soon. One of the rears is wearing out on the inside lip. I know it needs an alignment but I figured I would do it after the new tires. Leaning towards the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP.

Wow 50k miles! I also bought my 13GS new but I have under 11k miles. Unlike you I have no plans to ever get a new Vette. The C7 does nothing for me. My Goodyear tires were bald at under 10k miles but I was glad to see them go.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m sure many on the forum understand and appreciate how you feel about your GS. As someone who daily drives my Coupe it’s reassuring to learn of the reliability you’ve seen during the past 5 years. Here’s hoping the next 5 years and 50,000 miles are just as pleasing!

When I bought the Bridgestones, opinion on the forum seemed to be evenly divided - some for Bridgestone and some for Michelin. I went with Bridgestone since I considered them equal to the Michelins but less expensive. Obviously the Bridgestone have greatly outlasted the Goodyears. I find them similar to the OEM tires in that if I am at a stop light and there is a rut, the wheel will turn by itself, just like the Goodyears. I believe this is called tramlining. Recently I had occasion to enjoy a Corvette run with spirited driving. If a sign "suggested" going around a turn at 40 mph, I felt confident doing around 70 and the tires held the road without any slippage. The tires performed. All this being said, for some reason the Michelins are now cheaper than the 'stones so when it comes times to replace, I could easily give them a shot. I would expect to like both brands equally.

My 60th Anniversary package 2013 GS just turned 5 in April. I didn't own it for 3 years in the middle so I'm not 100% sure on its history. I remember I had to replace the seat bolster around 12k or so, front brakes recently and i changed all the fluids. Car has 51k on it right now. Im not sure about how old the battery is, still an AC Delco so it might be the original. Still starts the car up in extreme cold or after sitting for 3 weeks. I'll replace it next year if I figure out it is the original battery but then again "if it aint broke, then don't fix it."

Thanks for the report. I bought my 2013 60th Anniversary 427 several months ago with only 4000 miles on it. I was told the battery was replaced in January. I had the oil changed and the cooling system flushed. Two weeks ago I did a week of spirited driving in the Blue Ridge Mountains and put 1900 miles on the car. The only "squawk" with the car was the driver's side windshield wiper split. I replaced that as soon as I got home. Loving the car. I also have a 2011 Vette Vert that is my daily driver. Love those Vettes.

Congrats on 50K. I am slowly approaching 30K on my 08. This is longest period of time that I have owned a Corvette and the fewest miles. The others went much further. But, I’ll try to catch up to you.

I too have a '13GS coupe. replaced the stock Goodyears at 22k with the Bridgestone RE050A, great tires, no complaints. Car now has 35k. HVAC controller replaced under warranty. The display would randomly blink. Replaced the front pads last weekend. What a great car!!

I have a '13 GS. It's a great car. Mileage at 11,000 and no problems, just a new battery purchased this last year. I know the tires will be next, but putting this off as long as I can.

I've had my '13 GS coupe for a little over 2 years, just over 40,000 miles. As the third owner, it had a little of the GM Genuine pre-owned vehicle warranty left when I bought it and got the NAV unit replaced under warranty. The steering wheel nut was loose and fixed under warranty too. Since then I've made a few changes like resetting the ride height, putting in a resistor CAGS fuse, dual mode exhaust switch and a partition in the back. I did have to replace the battery this spring. The only major change I've made was to remove the air to oil cooler and replace the radiator with a DeWitts Z51 radiator with the oil warmer/cooler tank. Get's those 11.5 quarts of dry sump oil up to temp slightly faster and keeps it at a much more constant temp. Much better as a daily driver, at least to this OCD engineer.
The PO put a new set of Cooper Zeon tires on the car which I was prepared to hate but must say they really are pretty decent. They do need to get up to temp before they stick but I've seen 1.11 g on the HUD and they are decent riding and quiet. I'm really wanting to put better rubber on the car but will probably wait till next spring, can't bring myself to throw away something that still works well. Probably going to put Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on when I do.

Ok, I'll chime in. '13 GS coupe ( 3LT ), 6 speed manual, Blade Silver.
Original owner, bought it new from MacMulkin in NH. Will be 5 years old on July 1. 11,000 miles now.
First Corvette, bought it as a weekend summer toy. All stock, and all original including tires and battery. Has had its 5 oil changes.
Have had no problems at all, but mileage is low. Love looking at it and love driving it. Have no interest in a C7 or spending the $$$ on the C8.
We have an Audi, a BMW and an Infiniti. Way too much "state of the art" technology for me. The thing I appreciate more and more about my '13 GS is the lack of overwhelming technology. Just a basic old school design. Just so happy I got one.
Straightforward LS3 motor. Beautiful simple analog gauges. Small basic touchscreen GPS unit low in the center stack (I know its old, but at least theres no "mouse" type controller). Bluetooth, Sat radio, USB connection, HUD, keyless entry, trip computers and TPMS and more . . . . all there but barely noticeable. Sure the Bose sucks . . . . but its pretty simple to operate.
I truly believe the C6 will be the last "classic" Corvette . . . .and the 2013's are the last of that great design.

05 here purchased new and just have done a few recalls and have not had any problems. The original brakes and rotors are still good at 57,000 miles. 3 sets of tires and on my third battery.
I am very, very happy with the reliability of this car and have 3 other vehicles to drive therefore the miles are lower than average and I don't drive it to work.
