Just watched an YouTube video on the 9905s and am very impressed and confused. I’m trying to justify the difference in cost to the 9905s and 7705s. I’m still strongly considering the 7705s. The main reason I’m updating the HU is for the Apple car play and front and rear cameras. At my age the sound of the OEM radio is fine. What I know for sure is I will be purchasing from Crutchfield.
Has anyone used this and replaced the cigar lighter in the console?

Another question, I’m going to wire the backup camera to the accessory and am using the PAC RP5-GM11. Is the reverse trigger built into the module or do I need to run a wire from the purple wire in the HU to the backup light?

I paid Crutchfield to pre-wire my PAC RP5-GM11 to the HU harness. I believe it was $27. I installed the system and when I put it in reverse, the back up cam turned on and did it's job like a factory installed cam would do. Therefore the trigger mechanism is built in there somewhere. Which wire, I am not sure and my dash is already put back together. I am sure it is shown on one of the schematics.

I’ve never regretted buying from Crutchfield. Their customer support is second to none. Since I will be doing a self install I felt it was worth the extra if I had a problem and needed support. Believe me I would have liked saving the extra money. At the end of the day I don’t think I’ll regret buying from Crutchfield.
My son and I installed the HU along with the RP5-GM11. Installation went totally fine. After soldering all connections and connecting all harnesses we connected the ground cable to the battery. The HU powered up then the initialization process begun. Everything was going as it should, radio played, front camera worked, rear camera worked, Apple CarPlay was fine. Now the problem, the SWC would not respond. We checked and double checked all connections. Finally made the call to Crutchfield. Less than a two minute wait and tech support was on the line with us. He started with the most simple things first. He was very professional and patient. After 45 minutes on the phone he decided the RP5-GM11 module was defective. He said he would overnight one on Monday and I would have it Tuesday. I was able to find one that I could try and that was the problem.
I feel without the help of Crutchfield tech support I would have had to take it to an audio store and pay them to diagnose the problem.
Sometimes the cheapest is not the least expensive.

Great job! Now don’t forget to add some Corvette themed backgrounds and stat up screen. These are on my Pioneer. I'm not sure of the steps to do this with Kenwood's but I know it can be done.

I hope someone posts real world instructions as I have been unsuccessful at changing kenwoods start up screen no matter what I do. they claim a dealer will know how but then they claim only kenwood knows it and wont allow them to change it. I can change the background screen but not the start up.

Pioneer has an option to change startup screen in the settings. You just add a USB or SD card and it will search your USB/SD for picture files, real simple. Kenwood for some reason has to make this super complicated. You have to access a secret menu, and follow every step to the letter, and then maybe it works for you.

With the DDS9905s it has a screen resolution of 1280x720 and I’m having trouble finding the logo I like in1280x720.
Anyone know a good place to find pictures of the c6 emblem?

A key factor in making the front camera useful is parking lines. Without lines the exact distance to a curb is difficult to judge. You can change the camera angle to place the lines right where you want then. The Kenwood unit allows you to add lines to the rear camera but not the front. I went with a Clarion from Crutchfield. This camera has the lines built in. I ordered an Alpine camera first that was supposed to have the lines according to the website, but did not.
