Default Alignment

Recently picked up '13 GS. I see a slight camber issue in the rear and ride height too low in front. Anyone recommend a good, Vette alignment shop around Rancho Cucamonga, CA?

Can't help with recommendations, how do the tires look for wear? Sounds like an aggressive set up.

Rear tires have more wear on the outside than the inside of tread, both sides. Too much negative camber, but nor real bad. I suspect someone lowered the front about 1". Rear tires getting to wear bars at 20k, but I want it brought back to spec before replacing rear tires

I also have a 13GS, I went with stock alignment, told the tech, set it as neutral as possible. I have 15k miles on the tires they are all wearing evenly.

The stock alignment for a GS is different than the stock alignment for a base model. I suggest using either the base model alignment or the Pfadt Street Spec alignment. Which ever one you use make sure they alignment it exactly on spec and not within tolerance. I wore out my original GY's at 14,000. I replaced them with Bridgestone Pole Position's and had the Pfadt Street alignment applied. The tires have 30,000 miles on them and are wearing even.

Agree that it must be right on spec. Any camber issue will be evident in short time on tires that are 13" across the tread. Thanks for your input.

I bought my 13 GS new and the tires were balding in 9k miles from the aggressive factory alignment. Did the pfadt street alignment a few months ago with my new Continental tires. I’d look for a reputable Vette shop or a Chevy dealer that sells a lot of Vettes and get it done there. I took a printout of the pfadt specs to my dealer and had him do a street alignment on mine.

Thanks, Grand Sport Rob. A friend of mine with a C6, Z06 runs Continental and has been pleased with them. Hope yours are working out for you. I'm also going with the street specs.

You might want to look into Precision Alignment & Brake in Temecula. Scott is the owner and a hands on mechanic. On my 2011 GS, he made a small, non-stock adjustment that took care of a drifting problem I had. Good guy if you can make the drive.

Thanks Bill. I don't know if I want to drive that far. I suspect I can find a good shop closer to home.

Also would like to know this as I’m looking to get my GS aligned ASAP with the PFADT specs.

I spoke with Pfadt engineering today. According to the person I spoke to, their recommended setting that are published only applies if you have their coil over shocks on your car. They have no recommendation for alignment specs for a factory suspension.

Just thought I would share. Has anyone seen anything different?

The Pfadt company that you spoke to today is not the same company that published those specs years ago.
