Flash Flood July 4th
So yesterday we got hit with some heavy rain my car was parked outside, did not expect this at all... I had water a few inches above the bottom of my doors. My headlights were blinking sporadically until my battery died. I was able to get into it this morning and the carpet is soaked. The car is an 09 Base with 45k on the odometer.
I am wondering what the general consensus is with insurance claims?? Will they attempt to repair the car or total it? I have a claim opened but have not heard from them as of yet.

Not so fast...since was only in floor and not into dash area with all the electronics, they may just fix. Without being there and the insurance co. he has, it could go either way. I agree that I would want totaled, but we don't always get what we want. Good luck and keep us posted.

Totaled. Saw it happen in Ocean City Md a couple of times, and all the Vettes were totaled. Could be because of the salt water, but now it's considered a "flood car" and it will show up on Car Fax if you go to sell it. Shame really.
