Usually means the FOB you're using isn't programmed as either #1 or #2.
If you have another FOB, try it. Maybe you switched without knowing it.
And remember that's how the fob was programmed for the car, not what number is physically on the fob. The time the options are not available to you means that fob was programmed to the car as #3 or #4.
My understanding...not sure all cars came with options.
Up to 4 fobs can be programmed to car.
Only the first 2 will allow options no matter # on fob.
No number is needed on fob !
Only first 2 will allow options. !! You can reprogram fobs and get 1&2
So can get options to work on one of my Fobs . Both say #1 on bottom . Tried to program FOb thats not giving me options menu go through the kiey in hatch turn 5 times insert into glove box says "ready for FOB #4 ?" insert FOB into glove says "known FOB"
Somethings up . Can I reprogram current FOB ?

yes. You have to go thru the long programming procedure to clear the fobs and start over with number 1 & 2. As Vette_DD stated earlier, the number on the fob means nothing. It’s the order they’re programmed.

You'll need to reprogram ALL the fobs you're going to use. That long programming procedure voids all other fobs that were originally programmed for the car. GM did program 2 fobs for that car. The other fob that you don't have is out there somewhere. You don't want someone else to use it to steal your car. That's why the long procedure voids all other fobs.
When you attempted to use the short procedure, it said it was going to program the next fob as #4. So obviously one of your fobs that's already programmed is fob #3.
