Default Carlisle Blue... wrap?!

So I have been searching for almost a year and I知 FINALLY ready to buy. I want a Carlisle Blue corvette. I知 set on this color and hey, the heart wants what the heart wants. The only problem... of course when you池e ready to buy they all disappear. There is only ONE carlisle blue corvette in all of the United States currently for sale. (I致e searched Auto trader, Car Gurus, CarMax, iSeeCars, Cars.com, TrueCar). So I知 (I know, I know) actually considering (I can feel the shame coming) getting a corvette in whatever color and wrapping it baby blue...Since it might be hard to match the exact color for a wrap, if at all even possible. My issue is that it will look tacky and not authentic at all. Not to mention (the shame) I値l be an imposter! So here are my questions:

1) Is there another place to look for corvettes that I might be overlooking?
2) Is a wrap going to look ridiculous, and fake?

Thanks for all your help! I知 also a bit new here so be kind please! 🙂

it may be difficult to find a rare color. I致e seen wrapped cars look gaudy and some look good. See if you can get a sample of a close match or go all out for an actual paint job.

I love the color, as most know...

You can ALWAYS tell a wrapped car from paint. Always. There's no depth or shine to the wrap. You can wrap it...............but it's never going to be the same thing.

There is a 2012 Vert for sale at H & H Corvette in Orlando.

So it looks like there is still room for debate. Wow! that wrapped Aventador looks really great. Are you sure that's a wrap? And, a wrap that good is probably just as expensive as an actual paint job ... ?

(As an aside, I always prefer names ... names of cars, names of airplanes, etc. --that are ACTUAL NAMES. How can you tell what an "A8" is? Or an "X3"? Those are like Anti-Language, like Acronyms, they don't say what they are supposed be saying.)

Aventador. Impala. Corvette. ... there's a name.

I don't think you're crazy. I wanted a white corvette and wouldn't settle on anything else.
1.) You said there's one currently for sale, so why not buy it? the Grandsport on autotrader looks pretty damn cool, and it's $31K, has 61k miles. 3lt, black wheels, auto,
2.) What you don't say in your post, is if you could find the unicorn what would you want? base, GS, Z06, Zr1? coupe or conv? you don't say if you want auto or M6?

based on the stats that forum member (db2012gs) provided here is the breakdown of Carlisle blue corvettes:
Base coupe - 109
Base conv - 42
Grand Sport coupe - 243
Grand Sport conv - 118
Z06 - 12
ZR1 - 11

So your best bet might be buy the corvette that meets all of your other requirements (body style, HUD, transmission, NPP exhaust, etc) and wrap it like you said. I think wraps look good, but depends on who does them. I wouldn't worry about people thinking it's an imposter. It's your money, do what you want.

Best of luck to you.

There was a very nice base convert for sale on here for the longest time. Is it still available?

There痴 also Autoflex spray instead of a wrap. It can be cut, buffed, waxed, peeled off when done and is supposed to offer a little more paint protection than vinyl wrap.

It can't hurt to put up a WTB(want to buy) post in the C6 For Sale section of this forum.

Took a friend about a year and a half to find a Carlisle GS coupe. He purchased private party for 35k with 9k miles 3lt auto with chrome rims about 3 months ago. The only color he wanted was Carlisle. He literally looked online every day. Good luck.
Car was in Minnesota. He flew in and drove back.

They're available. I think the OP doesn't want to pay for a Carlisle Blue Vette, just wants a Vette that he can make LOOK like one. Poser Vette.

I don't think the OP first choice would to buy something other than Carlisle blue. He clearly asked if anyone knew of other websites, or leads on one. Cut the guy some slack.

...and I supplied him with a web site where one is for sale....which is also not too far from his location.
Do not understand the "cut him some slack" statement.

It is indeed a wrap. A place in Scottsdale, AZ did it and that was there display car at a show I attended. It would could as much as a paint job but it is a nice alternative.

I didn't know Carlisle Blue was rare when I bought my GS Coupe. I bought it from a private seller 40 miles from my house. He had been trying to sell it for six months. It had 7,000 miles, M6, 3LT. I just didn't want a red, black, or orange GS.
