Screwed
Presently Enroute from Chicago to Santa Monica via as much of Route 66 as is reasonable. Stayed overnight at the Boots Court Motel in Carthage MO and got a low tire pressure warning when I started up the next morning. This screw was in the RR tire, right in the center valley. I got a lot of help from some great folks, and was back on the road, tire repaired, for $18. I'll post some pics of the trip when I get back in a few weeks ; almost all of them are on my camera, and there's no way to get them onto my tablet ( which took the picture of the screw). This happened Saturday. In Moriarity NM now.

That's not such a major screwing that you can't just smile & roll with it for the rest of your road trip

Great trip. We took it, along with 3000 miles of side trips, last summer. Stop in Winslow, AZ, and Tucumcari, NM. Super little towns. Last year, when we got into Needles, CA, and it was 120 degrees, before noon. Have a great time and be safe.

There must be something with the '11 GSs. We picked up a screw on our test drive, and a screw the day we got home from buying ours. A week later...another screw. We just put on new tires so I'm hoping the 'Vettes desire to be a fastener magnet is over.

Buy a base model. Tires are not as wide. LOL

That's crazy! There is no way that you could make that happen if you wanted to. It amazes me what people pull out of their tires, but what is more amazing is how in the world running over such an item would cause it to puncture a tire, and in a split second no less.

Unfortunately, there's no practical way to get the vette included in these photos, except maybe at 3 am. Those intersections were really busy. In Morro Bay right now, heading up the PCH, which seems to have reopened all the way a couple of days ago. Good timing, that!
