Wife and I drove the Dragon Tail that is in Townsend near Gatlinburg TN. If you are looking for a weekend trip then this is worth the drive. It has 322 curves in 11 miles. Most fun I’ve had driving the Vette.

Nice pics. The first 2 look like the Cherohala Skyway. The Dragon is fun but I actually prefer the Skyway. That whole area is just beautiful. Glad you enjoyed it.

I will have to check out the Cherohala Skyway. The first two pics were on the Foothills Parkway. You are correct the area is beautiful.
129 is fun, but a tad crowded on weekends, Parkway is fun to Maryville or Townsend, and Skyway is fun back over to Tellico Plains. We also enjoy 28 over to Almond and then 74 back to Topton and 129 or on over to Bryson City and then 19 up to Cherokee. 441 takes you back to Gatlinburg. All beautiful Spring, Summer or Fall.

That is a great route that I have taken a couple of times from Gatlinburg. With lunch, it's about a 3, 4 hour ride. For me the best ride is after the tail where you can speed and enjoy the scenery whereas on the Tail you have to really concentrate on the road.
