Was in the process of bleeding the brakes and swapping from my track set up to my street set up this weekend when I snapped one of the lug nuts into 2 pieces. I know GM used a 2-piece lug nut on these cars and it appears mine failed and the outer portion came right off just using a regular wrench. Anyone else have this happen to them? How'd you get the remnants of the nut off the stud?
I have a nut extractor on it's way from Amazon that hopefully with my impact wrench can get the lug nut off the wheel. Also, luckily for me I work for an auto parts company who just happens to sell replacments....I think our display model is about to get a set lighter. After breaking one I'm just going to replace them all.
