Washing your car with the targa top off
I had the hose and bucket out this morning and was wondering if anyone else washes their Vette with the targa off?
The top is off of my car most of the summer and putting it back on just to wash is drag. I got so good at it that I don't even raise the windows anymore.
I can't be the only one.

Adams waterless wash for me. The hose and bucket are for my DD pickup truck. The Corvette never sees rain, so waterless wash is simple and quick.

No, it takes 10 seconds to put it on/take it off so I don't see the point. Now I wash my wife's Wrangler Unlimited without the top on, but that has waterproof seat covers

This seems really strange. It literally takes less than 30 seconds to throw the top on. I never even considered this on my previous C6. I would be more frustrated trying to avoid getting water inside the car than I would be to throw the top on and off again.

Heck....whats more strange to me is even asking if it's a problem. Wash it with the top on......or wash it with the top off just be careful not to get the inside wet.....whats the issue ??......

It's just a matter of why? I could understand if it was some lengthy ordeal that took 10 minutes or more, but it literally takes 10 seconds to put the roof on. How can you wash the halo properly with the roof off? I get you could just use glass cleaner on all the glass, but that still seems like it would take more time than just washing them with the rest of the car. Just seems like a huge hassle that could be easily avoided with ten seconds of your time.

FWIW: Being old I'm not up to speed on modern stuff, but I've seen this "Waterless car wash" stuff on here before. So I put it in my AMZ cart today and will give it a try. Mine hasn't seen rain in probably three years, mostly just gets dusty but sometimes too much for the air hose to get off.

Also, if you wash and reuse the towels, don't use fabric softener.

Bruze, you just need some good quality micro fiber towels. I use 4-5 small towels when cleaning the car this way. Fold the towel twice so its in 4 layers. Spray and clean each panel and window one at a time and then I reuse the towels to clean most of the dirt and brake dust off the wheels and wheel barrels before finishing the wheels with a clean towel. Car is clean and dry in 20 minutes.

FWIW: I don't put my micros in the washer. Being a self-employed (work at home) toolmaker, everything around here has tiny steel slivers embedded in it, or maybe bigger chips -- including my clothes. I often see them on the bottom of the washer after I do a load of clothes. Can't risk putting micros in the washer, so I hand wash them outside.
