Default Fuel Cap button

I need some advice. Last night when I got to my car I noticed that the light for the fuel cover is out The one for the rear hatch still works. Has anyone replaced those lights in the past ?
Here is a photo of what I am talking about:

Huh! I’ve had my car for 14 years and never realized those buttons were even lit.

Same here.

ETA: just checked, the fuel door is lit, and the trunk button is not.

Guessing here: I rarely drive mine at night (too many deer) and I know I've NEVER filled the tank at night. So it probably IS lit, but I've never noticed it because I've never used either of those buttons at night.

Both are lit on my 07. Hard to see them when your driving, steering wheel blocks your view. Not surprised many don't know their lighted.

I'm with you, never paid attentions to look to see if they lighted up, will look next out at night.

I had to do the same thing. Went out to turn the lights on to find out but they come on when the door is opened. Just goes to show you can learn something new every day.

If only one is light, then the bulb in that side button's burned out on the board.

The button is easy to remove and pull apart to get to the light on the board, and will just need to solder a new bulb back into the button.

The #7219 bulb used in the dash pods and such is going to be too large, so would need a smaller 12v micro bulb like the T1-1-4-12V-0 bulb isntead.

Hence smaller type bulb used on the door push button boards, then the larger #7219 bulbs used on the dash pad board isntead.

The question is how to remove that panel ? Do you pry it from the front or do you have to go from the back of the panel ????

Okay I had to try: I pry a flathead screwdriver next to the plastic frame and it just popped out. Time 2 seconds

This is what it looks like after you pull it out. As you can see it is just a clip on. I did not continue because i did this in a parking lot. So I will do the rest when I am at home and will return and report with photos

It seems that the connections was lose. Wiggle the connections and the light went on.
