the splitter serves to direct airflow into the radiator as well as limiting airflow under the vehicle at higher speeds & thus preventing front end lift. Best not to remove. What you might try is driving on & off your driveway at an angle.

Drove my '07 Z06 without one for several years...no effect on engine temps, etc. I'm in hot Texas and the Z was highly modified (Vortech supercharger, plus all the HD goodies to support it). I wouldn't worry about it.

your most likeliy not hitting your splitter. Your hitting the air dam. And that’s not an issue.
If your hilling the splitter then you must have a steep driveway.

haven't had one on my 09 for over two years, just ran with the club 300 miles Saturday triple digits(outdoor temps) at speed no worries, like above "I wouldn't worry about it".
The splitter drags quite a bit on my GS, going in and out of driveways and occasionally on dips in the road. I figure it's just the price of admission as I don't think the GS looks right without the splitter. I take a file to the bottom of the splitter a couple times a year and knock the "whiskers" off. I figure the areas that drag will eventually self clearance and almost stop dragging. I will simply replace it if/when it needs to be replaced.
My splitter drags a bit coming in and out of my driveway, the air dam always drags. I have a suburban driveway so the curbing and driveway has a slight slope. By itself not a problem, if I get the right angle no dragging. But we downsized two years ago and went from a 3 to 2 car garage... but still have 3 cars. My DD 328i sits outside at the end of the driveway so have to maneuver around it, causing me to drag once in a while.
From my perspective, price of admission to have such a cool car and the low splitter part of what the car needs and frankly I like such bits on the car. I'd go with a Z07 splitter if I had a different driveway.
Talk about timing....my car is on jack stands as we type getting ready to install one. Test fit is done, holes drilled, 3m tape in place with their adhesion promoter and just waiting for the paint to dry....

Aer you referring to the splitter front small factor splitter on the Z06's or the air dam under the car that is on all the C6's If you are talking about the air dam under the car, I bet everyone scraps theirs backing out of their drive. Splitter should not be an issue if you back out on a angle slowly.
Whether you’re dragging the air dam or splitter shouldn’t matter. I wouldn’t drive without the splitter. Most of us drag one or the other or both but when they get bad enough just replace them.
I posted this on your "other" thread and apparently my reply got deleted along with your dual post. But I'll say it again:
Take a few minutes every few months and give your splitter a hair-cut. Simply run a file or some sandpaper over the leading edge and remove all that scruff. Then put some Back to Black or other plastic restorer on it and it will look as good as new. I am with the crowd that believes the splitter adds a lot to the looks of the front end and it's not that difficult to maintain.

Yup.
My shoes wear out now and then and I replace them too. It's a better alternative to running around barefoot all over the place.
