I have a GS, and there were 3 screws, and of course, 3 holes as a result in the front bumper. Unscrew the bolts, and see what happens. If you are lucky, the mount will fall off. Then you will have to deal with the holes. If you are unlucky, then whoever mounted it also used the double sided tape. It can still be removed, but it's a PITA, or so I'm told. If you need to run with a front plate, then a compromise is to do what I did until I got the holes repaired, and that is to use a rattle can, and paint the mount the same color as the rest of the car. IMO, that looked better, but no where as good as the removable plate bracket from Top Flight. If you don't need a front plate, or want to take the risk and run without it, then as I said, you'll need to fix the damage caused by the screws if you want to leave the GM mount off.

Stupidity? Incompetence? Ignorance? Laziness? Take your pick. To be fair, the mount is configured to utilize 3 screws, but the double sided tape would have worked just as well. Maybe they were worried the plate would get blown off at 180 MPH

Original install

The holes

All fixed, with Top Flight mount, ZR1 style chin splitter.

Leave it to GM. Probably the only vehicle with three.

Thanks, sounds like I need to go to auto body shop to get it done correctly.

I have the 3 holes as well. My car is black so I filled in the holes for the time being and carefully touched it up. Better than it was but not fantastic. A shop said the right way is bumper off and put in a support from the inside. Repaint entire bumper and reinstall. He wanted $550. I still did not do this as I was concerned that the bumper color would not match the hood. Eventually I may get it done. GM should have designed the front plate better to eliminate the screws. The C4 & C5 had covers to hide the plate but that would cost more money to produce the car.
