Default TPMS Try this it worked

I have a 07 that lost power and had to change the battery. On first start checked everything and no warning messages on Drivers Information Center scrolling through everything.

Well the LF and LR were reading zero psi

This is what is stated in the C5 C6 Chilton repair manual.

The tire pressure monitoring system uses the body control module (BCM) drivers information display, instrument cluster remote control door locks receiver
so when I exited the car I locked it and un locked it and the monitors were working

I think you are so far lucky, I have 05, and it starts with zero psi, then after a while it disappears and eventually it will come back, but when they read XXXX time to replace, there dead.

There telling you, a warning it's time to replace the sensors.

Good luck!

I've already replaced the dying monitors in our 2010, you're living on borrowed time. The "usual" life of these TPMS sensors is 7-8 years.

That hasn't happened I have a warranty on tires, and the sensors are covered

I have to ask, if they the original there telling you it's time to replace them, they will be nothing but a headache giving false alarms in the DIC, BUT if you replaced them when you replaced your tires, I would have them replace with who ever installed them.

These sensor lasted me 10 years in my 05, before I replace them I ket kept getting DIC messages on and off for months till I couldn't take it, and had them all replaced.

So if you have warranty I would use it, there not cheap, just google them for prices, so use your warranty you must of paid for it to have it on a 07 Corvette.

have a 2007 z06 with 26,000 miles, haven't had any issues with TPMS yet but the tires are getting pretty slick (original goodyears still on car) . will be replacing the tires and tpms this fall or early next spring.

Only suggestions, stay away from Goodyears, lot better tires out there to choice from, and I also recommend replacing the TPMS sensors.

Thank You for your Service!

Not necessarily time to replace them. I've had this happen on two different vettes, and it happened after tires were replaced, and not reprogrammed to be the correct location on the car.

All kinds of weird stuff would intermittently happen with them, and once reprogrammed, all issues went away.

Something to try first, at least, it's easy and cheap to do.

How'd you get them to last so long? My 07 Z ate it's rears in about 15k miles. Fronts about 18K

If you disconnect the car battery to kill the power to the RCDLR, the Tire pressure is going to read 0 in the DIC for all the tires until you drive the car for a short distance.

Its when the pressure reading is XX in the DIC, that you have problems with the sensors isntead.
So times its just a RCDLR glitch, and if you relearn the TPMS's to the car, may solve the XX problem.
Other times, it's the batteries in the TMPS that has went dead, and the TPMS has to be replaced isntead.

As for general rule with TPMS and one of the sensor battery goes dead to cause the XX problem even a relearn will not correct, replace the entire set with 4 new OEM TPMS for your year of car. Hence if one TPMS battery wore out ,the rest the other sensor batteries are shorty to follower.

As for TPMS sensors, there are 4 different models/types, and you have to get the right one's for your year of car, including if the car is a USA car or export car isntead.
So, the first type at is for 05 to 09 USA cars,
another type for 05-09 export cars,
another type for 10-13 USA cars,
and the last type is 10-13 for export cars.

Again, you get the wrong model sensor, and it not going to learn in to the RCDLR when you do a TPMS learn for the car.

If you like diy projects, and have good solder skills, you can replace the batteries in the tpms sensors. I use a hot soldering iron to dig out the epoxy around the battery and unsolder it. I carefully peel off the tabs welded to each face of the battery and solder those tabs (or small gauge wire) to the battery and solder it into the board. I have some expired space grade epoxy that I use to secure the battery in the sensor but I'd imagine that jbweld or rtv silicone sealer would work as well.
If you just replace the sensors with new and don't want the old ones PM me as I use them for replacements in a pinch. A few of my buddies have the first gen tpms sensors in their cars too.

Wow! I got rid of the original Goodyears this spring on my 2010 with 4,300 miles because I felt that they were getting too old at 8 yrs. You definitely got your money's worth out of those tires!
