Vibration

my c6 has a vibration at 80 mph and goes away at 90 mph it's felt in the steering wheel. Does it need wheel balancing in front ?

I had a similar issue, dealer told me it was my brakes. Which I thought it was a load of nonsense, I was getting vibrations at 70ish mph had nothing to do with applying brakes and just prior I had the calipers rebuilt with new pads and rotors. I took it to my buddy who is a manager at a tire kingdom, all it needed was wheels to be balanced. Then it drove just fine at any speed.

Are they brand new tires or do they have some miles?

Duh.....yes....and a rear wheel imbalance can transmit vibration thru the chassis to the steering wheel so any balancing should be done on all four wheels. Also, you don't say anything about the mileage or condition of the tires. If they are hi-mileage worn or unevenly worn due to misalignment, that will also cause wheel shake at different road speeds.

tires are originals with 17,000. Miles and still in great shape.

78-82 mph seems to be the sweet spot spot for vibration on a c6 corvette. Yes get a Hunter road force balance with a good tire tech and check the tires for run out or a out of round condition.

rule of thumb is if you feel it in the seat, its rear tires/wheels, if its in the steering wheel, its the front wheel/tires

bent rim is possible but prob a balance/treadwear issue
