Default C 6 automatic transmission locked in park

I have a 2010 C6 with automatic transmission w/ 13k miles, from time to time when I start the car it will not allow me to shift out of park, I have been to a specialist and he claims he adjusted a micro switch. Is there any way to eliminate the seloined switch completely from allowinging this to happen, if not what do you recommend, afraid to getting stranded. thanks Guy..

Default

The solenoid triggers a nylon pawl to release from the shifter lock. You can either zip tie the pawl back so it doesn't lock the shifter....or cut the end of it off so it no longer engages.
