Looking to replace my stock intake, and thinking about the Killer Bee from Halltech. Anyone have opinions on them? Also, does anyone have a used one laying around?
seems like most go with halltech or vararam. i have the halltec Mf103 and im happy with it. before i was running a propped radiator shroud and kn drop in. intake temps are about the same a few degrees above ambient although now my car pulls in more air then it did before. i had headers and tune before my tuner had to adjust my fuel trims by 6% after adding the intake.

the halltech is advertised as one of the few that doesn't need one. im not sure how stock cars run with just a intake but i do know the MAF on the ls3 is more touchy then the LS2. i did headers and tune first so a simple adjustment was well worth it on my already tuned car. i think the car will be okay with just a intke but the ecu may try to negate some of the gains by adjusting the A/F ratio. still if you have cooler intake temps it will free up some power since the car will not pull timing as much. small discussion about this
headers and tune is a great first mod and id say you would gain more out of just a tune then just a intake.Just throwing that out there. Also if you are a Ls3(not sure on ls2) you can run a propped shroud and get close to gains of having a intake. i did this for a while before i got around to spending money on a intake .

Did you ever take any water in when you had the propped shroud and drove in the rain?

nope i live in houston too drove in a full on rain never effected me. if any water may have got in it wasnt enough to really get in and through the filter. its kinda easy to adjust if u feel the need too just pull out the toggle bolts., after i added the intake i got severe surging with the shroud propped. intake temps with the beehive is about the same as propped shroud but i am pulling in more air now then before
