Also, if you are getting funky readings between the two, then would bank that the in line filter is plugged up, and will need to be replaced.

To change the filter since its in line and will need to split the fitting to get to it, you need to reclaim the Freon to start with to get the pressure out of the lines, pull the line to replace the filter, put a vacuum on the system to draw out any moisture from when the system was opened up to replace the filter, then you can recharge the lines correct with Freon to the above correct pressure amounts.
