Corvette GTC spoiler-----anyone have one??
so i have been heading towards the appearance side of the cars, and came across these spoilers. I think they look really good, im just confused about them being listed as "duraflex" and made out of fiberglass. I was under the impression that duraflex was abs/plastic molded.
In any event i was wondering if anyone on here has one and if it has to have much work to be considered "prepped" for paint.
thanks

because they are trying to sell me something....of course they will tell me "its ready to paint"
i wanted feedback a member that has one, received it new in their black finish and see what it looked like. Isn't that what forums are for?

It's very similar to the Supervettes GT6R spoiler. However on the one you listed from BMC doesn't appear to have the third brake light?

I purchased mine from Supervettes a few years ago and I'm very happy with it. It is all fiberglass and I ordered it unpainted so my painter could paint it body color correctly.

So I just got a "Duraflex" rear diffuser from eBay and it was quite possibly the worst quality part I have ever seen. It is actually the first part I have ever returned. It looked like it was finished by a 5-year-old. The dealer was really good about the return and I asked him if I just got a bad one or if they were all like that. His exact words were, "yeah, they are all ****"
Nevertheless, I would definitely spend a bit more and get the SuperVette version.

SEE this is what i was afraid of.....ther version of "ready for paint" is prob **** poor compared to ours.....so moral of the story, if you buy the ebay one, the money you spend to get it ready for pait would in essence cost the same as the super vettes one in the end....
can you share the ebay seller for me too just so i steer clear of them in the furure.
thanks

Here are some pictures. They are not the best and definitely do not show the poor quality but you can still see the difference in width of the guide plates and also the corner finish.

If you do a search it is pretty common knowledge that you do not buy anything that says Duraflex. Every single thread I have read where someone bought something they say it costs more to get it to fit and look right, than buying a quality piece to start with.
