Squeaking brakes
If not Clean the area on the piston and caliper where the pad backing plate touches. Apply the anti-squeal adhesive, reinstall the pads and button up
On the anti shim plates on the back of pads, work theBrake grease into the edges of the shim plate to pad backer as well.
On the caliper pistons, very light coat of grease on just the lips that will contact the pad backer, and don't forget to use a light amount of grease on the inside of the caliper other surfaces side where that pad is going to seat against the caliper as well.
Pull the anti squeal shims (9) on the brackets as well, and give them a light coat of brake grease both iniside and out after you have cleaned the dust that was under them.
On the bracket pins on Jl9 or J55 calipers where the calipers bolt in (5), pull the rubber boot slightly back, pull the pins, and grease the rods as well.
Hence the sequel your hearing, is not the pad against the rotor surface (which neither of these two surface should every be greased), but the pad steel backer vibrating in the caliper/bracket against dry surfaces of them isntead.
