I've got a slight shimmy at idle on my 2010 base I just bought, I'm looking into changing the plugs and doing a bit of a tune up so I have a starting point/baseline to go from.
What plugs are you guys using?
I'm not tracking the car but I do like to drive a bit aggressive sometimes....like most of us in here.
i just changed the plugs & wires last week ( after 137k miles ).no reason other then I felt that it was way overdue.
went with the AC Delco plugs ( #41-110 ) & duralast gold wires. the car is still stock, so I stayed with "stock' replacements.
one of the plugs was totally missing its electrode. I'm sure it was firing, otherwise I'm also sure I would have gotten a CEL.
I replaced my plugs and wires with OEM parts at 96K. Just because it was called for by GM at 100K. If you are not close to the 100K mark I don't think you need them. One thing you can check is that all the wires are tightly attached to the coil packs and spark plugs. It is not uncommon for the wires to slip off the coil packs. I had one recently come off and for a couple of days it was close enough to allow the spark to continue but I could hear it arching.
Once a year I clean the MAP and throttle body.

Don't forget to use anti seize on your plug threads. And a dab of Dielectric grease inside the boots of your wires, make sure you feel them "snap"on to the connector on each end.
Curious... have you checked your HB? I'd have to go through all the old strings on it, but I thought a slight shimy / shake was one of the signs / signatures of when the HB starts to wobble.
What you feel is probably normal. How many miles do you have on it?
The LS-3 is known to have a lumpy idle as many members here have mentioned. I bought my 2012 new (sold) as I did my current 2013 GS and both cars had, have a lumpy idle.

The HB has to be pretty bad to feel any vibration from it. You will more likely hear a squeal when it starts to go bad. The small amount of wobble present on almost every factory HB will not cause any issues.
I was curious about the use of the word "shimmy" also. Sounded like he was maybe referring to a miss, or loping idle. Shimmy is something I have only ever felt in the steering.
So I just turned 66,000 miles and my best comparison is against my old '05 that was smooth as silk.
I took a long look at the HB this evening and I don't think that's a problem.
It very well could be that the LS3 just has a bit more lump in it's idle than the LS2 did and it still feels different to me.
I listened at the tail end and it does sound like there's a little skip in there somewhere...but that can show up in just about anything mechanical.
I'll check the wires and the connections, and clean the MAF & throttle body before I start throwing new parts at it.

Thanks for all your input.

At 66000 miles you are due for plugs.I put Denso plugs in my at 22000 miles they cost more but worth it.
I replaced the plugs and wires on my ‘05 C6 at 68,000 miles, partially out of curiosity to see there condition and partially because I needed a project one Saturday morning. I used OEM ACDelco plugs and Hinson wires (I’m a fan of Hinson and got them for about the same price as OEM). Replacing plugs and wires on a C6 is one of the easiest projects you can do has mentiobed, a dab of anti seize or motor oil on the plug threads and some dielectric grease on the inside of the boots. Make sure you feel them click onto the plug and coil or you will have a misfire.
I decided to go ahead and change plugs & wires yesterday for peace of mind and to establish a baseline for my ownership.
One of the plugs was loose and the plug wire on the one placed by a genius under the dip stick pulled right out of the boot when I was trying to pop it loose from the plug itself.
Idle is smoother and it definitely runs stronger now.
