Default C6 Base model Differential Question

Hello all,

I've recently discovered that my C6 has a small leak from the seal on the right side of the rear differential where the CV axle goes in. I haven't been able to find a part number for replacement. Any suggestions? Also, since I'm in there, should I replace anything else since it'll be torn apart for the gasket replacement?

Try 19259473. Looks like it can be replaced from the outside.

Thank you! Is there anything else I should replace while I’m taking it apart just to be thorough?

Not an uncommon repair. One of mine replaced under warranty, and I replaced one that leaked after swapping out an axle.

$25-50 is ridiculous for that seal. A perfectly good SKF seal can be had from Rockauto for 6 bucks.

Buy a new GM axle nut when you get the seal.
34MM socket is available as a loaner tool if you don't own one.
Check your rear brakes while you are there.
Grease the tie rod if it is a serviceable one.
Replace the diff fluid if it is due.
Make sure shocks and transverse spring look good.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to look the part up on RockAuto, but I can’t find it. Do you happen to know the part number they have for it?
