Hello, I am currently putting the vette away for winter. It’s an 06. So I filled up the tank. Should just dump the whole container of Sta-Bil? It’s juat the standard size case
I would put the Stabil in first when the tanks are empty. When you fill it, it will mix in the left tank first and than transfer over to the right tank afterwards.
If you have a full gas and than dump the stabil in, the fuel in the right tank wouldn’t get treated.
1oz of stabil treats 2.5 gallons. The C6’s tanks hold 18 gallons.
Stabil is a 1 oz per 10 gallons during the driving season & 1 oz per 5 gallons ratio during the storage season. Add the Stabil with FRESH fuel, it won't help with fuel that's been in your tank for months
Use the marine type its the better of the two. More money but highly recomended by real mechanics. Also do not forget to read the label mixture is inportant.
Again, with the way the fuel transfers, your not gonna get anything in your right tank if you just dump it into your full tank.
This is the second time he noted this, which is important. You should dump the StaBil in first (with tank below 1/2), THEN fill the tanks with fuel.
OP has two options: Let it go, odds of it having any negative effects are small.
Or, continue to drive it til you get below 1/2 tank, then do per above. Don't know where you're located but I'm in upstate NY and I haven't put mine away yet. We will have some nice days yet before the salt trucks go out.
Been storing cars for over 40 years now, have never used Stabil or any similar product. Never had any issue with starting come spring. Cars or mowers or snow blowers or edgers or, you get the idea. My two cents.
I treat full tank (Stabil storage), battery tender, dryer sheets in exhaust pipes and engine compartment, and cover late November. Walk away for 4 months.
I’ll usually start my car twice a week during the winter months .So it never just sits
If you don't get it up to operating temp to burn off all the condensation in the engine and exhaust, that's a really bad thing to do.....better to leave it just sit.

OMG !!!! Now you've done it !! You've just given the green light to all the condensation theories. If you start your car up a couple times during storage then you are doomed to an LS motor fly-apart when you bring it out in the Spring !!........

Watch all the water dripping from your exhaust when you start it up.....theories and facts, good thing to know the difference.
