I have searched and searched but can't see what I'm looking for. 2007 A6, need to remove the shifter BOOT...not the ****. I have the console off and have pried all different angles but still on. In the pics, I want to seperate where the blue and red arrows meet. I think it might pop open where the red circle is but it doesn't budge. Any help? TIA
My shifter solenoid is starting to hang and I want to disable it..
You should first remove the shift position indicator by prying up with a small screwdriver. Then lift up the leather boot which will then look like the attached picture below.
As per the above picture, with 2 small flat head screwdrivers, wedge a screwdriver on each side of the locking tab, prying the tab inwards until the tabs release and the section can be lifted up and out. Use the same technique for the dash end locking tab. The above picture only shows the bottom console locking tab location.
