Window tint on Black C6 Convertible
Goes to the shop tomorrow for 3M tinted side and rear windo only. Texas law says maximum 25 for sides and anything goes on the rear. Don’t want too dark for loss of night vision, but do want to go as dark as possible without that night vision loss. Any suggestions based on your personal experiences? Thanks

NC law is 35%, and I can say there is a reduction in night vision with it. It's not too bad, but it's there and you can tell. 25% will probably be too dark if you're worried about it.

No lower than 20% on the rear if you are concerned about seeing when backing up at night. Never had lower than 35% on side windows so can't comment about anything lower than that, and it was fine. Had 5% limo tint on the back window on a Sonoma and couldn't see anything when backing up at night. Had to roll the window down and stick my head out!

I have 20% side windows on my Camry (5% in the past), 35% side windows on my Tacoma, and 50% on my Vette windows.
-5% is hard to see through at night. It's definitely hard to back up unless you have a camera. I'd have to stick my head out my window.
-The 20% is admittedly a little too dark for me at night. Makes it a little hard for me to check my blindspot or mirrors when there is zero ambient light outside. I mean, you can definitely see other headlights and such, but there is definitely a difference.
-35% is doable. Makes it a little hard sometimes when there is zero moonlight outside, but I wouldn't go lighter. I like 35%.
-50% reduces vision a tiny bit at night (also have 50% on my windshield, but I probably wouldn't do the windshield again)
-All tints are fine during the day, even 5%.
If I did a car again, I'd do 5% on the back windows (always), a window strip on the top of the windshield, and either 20% or 35% on my side windows. I hate driving in a fishbowl. Some guy caught me picking my nose in the Vette the other day with my 50% side tint.

15% on everything except windshield for me. The windshield gets 50%. Make sure they use good quality tint. Supposedly ceramic will help keep your interior cooler in the summer than regular tint.
