Default Launch control issue

I have a 2011 m6 and I'm trying to figure out the launch control. I can launch it fine at 4k rpm and it launches hard and great. Although after the launch when I'm trying to go through 1st gear and into second it stops at 4k again like its hit the limiter. I did a search on here and couldn't find another thread with my problem. I have heard that having the fuse pulled for npp with cause issues with launch control, but only that it wouldn't work at all. Any advice is appreciated.

Update: I just put the fuse back in for npp. Same issue. Also tried in both competitive mode and just traction off and it's the same issue in both. Launches fine but holds at 4k in first gear after the launch.

I don't think your 2011 has launch control. All else fails someone on here has the answer.

I'm sure it has to, I can put it in competitive and it holds the rpms at 4k. If it's not in either competitive or traction off it will rev all the way out. I dont see how it doesn't have LC. I very well could be wrong though.

I believe you cannot rev past 4000 on free tach. Under load is different. Once again someone with more knowledge will chime in. When you say launch control do you mean like line lock ?

Launch control comes on all manual C6's from 2010 up.

The trick to using it, get the car in launch mode peg the gas peddle and hold it all the way down, the side step the clutch pedal from it all the way downward position so it comes all the way up to press the top clutch pedal switch all the way in, and keep holding the gas pedal all the way down. The tires are going to slip to begin with, but LC will correct the problem to get it to stick again.

As for what breaks launch control, will be you either coming up off the gas from WOT, or when you touch the clutch pedal again that brings the pressure off the top clutch pedal switch. So if the car is rev limiting to 4K in second gear, then you have a problem with the top clutch pedal switch/ not coming off the gas pedal for the shift into second gear.

As for using launch control, is really sucks since you get the initial tire spin, and this causes you to be slower off the line isntead. Hence learn how to use the clutch at launch so the tires are not breaking grip without launch control, and you will be much faster off the line isntead.
