Default VIN question

1G1YY26W

The 5th letter in the VIN is supposed to state the trim. But mine says Y. When looking at the decoding it states:

5 Corvette Specific information Model/Equipment "Y" or "Z" Z = ZR1, A=1LT mt, B=2LT mt, C=3LT mt, D=4LT mt, E=1LT at, F=2LT mt, G=3LT at, H=4LT at, J=Z06 1LZ, K=Z06 3LZ, L=Z06 3LZ, M=ZR1 std, N=ZR1 3ZR, P=GS LT mt, R=GS 2LT mt, S=GS 3LT mt, T=GS 4LT mt, U=GS 1LT at, V=GS2LT at, W=GS 3LT at, X=GS 4LT at, 9=NON USA/CANADA

Just says "Y" or "Z" without stating anything else.. ? It has heated seats, HUD, 6 speed manual, NPP factory exhaust

Is this odd?

Y designates Corvette. You need to look at the RPO codes for trim features and color codes. That sticker is located in the glove box.

What year is your C6? The VIN decoding changed throughout the C6 run. For 2008 and 2009 coupes, the VIN started as 1G1YY26W, indicating a coupe (sixth digit=2) with the LS3 engine (eighth digit=W).

Here's what the 5th character of the VIN had for model years 2005 - 2009 :

Corvette Specific information "Y" or "Z" Z = ZR1

The glovebox has a silver sticker with a bunch of 3 letter and/or number codes on it.

the bottom codes are

YTK Z51 1SZ 3LT 84I 846 89U

So I understand the Z51, 3LT and 89U (color code)

but not the others. Is every one of those combinations an option? Theres 60+

^ Here you go: https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/c6/2008/2008rpos.html
I’m sure you’ll find many of those codes aren’t terribly interesting.
