headlight mod - thoughts?

headlight mod - thoughts?
Before getting slammed, what you see is temporary (easily peeled off) and FAR from what would be final.
With my car a few weeks from completion and original lenses toasted and removed, have had some time to play around with headlight ideas. For me, there's just something missing with the c6 HLs, at least at certain angles and especially on lighter cars. I'm obviously not alone as I think I've researched every mod done - lots of good ones, just none I'm sold on. The next step is replacing the black plasti-dip'd top with some patterned 3M vinyl (prob carbon fiber) and 'maybe' shade the curved area in front of the lights. If I was some 3D printing guru, I'd pursue some 'lid' ideas just to see(like 3 separate gauges?) - if I'm sold, I may take it to that extreme and pay someone but far from that at this time. The only thing I'm certain of is tinting the turn signal glass, and some type of greying/tinting the bezels(even if I keep it all jsb) - probably a tad darker than what I've done in the pic.
Thoughts, constructive criticism welcomed.

I don't hate it. That guy in Russia that does the 3D printing and sells stuff in the vendor forum could knock that out.

Definitely unique. I think it looks pretty cool and not over the top

I like it, but as others have said, would like to see them installed on the car.

Sky's the limit on mods. What you like is all that matters. With the lens easily removed everything can be temporary so to speak. For the vast majority of my customers mod request has been the simple blacking out of the chrome trim rings. Seems to cause the light to be a little less obtrusive with the chrome not standing out so prominent.

Painters talked me out of using a wrap under the lens (potential fade and peeling), so pretty sure am going with some type of paint (researching hydro dipping for some sort of pattern). May be a little while, but will post when I do.

Yeah, stopped by shop to try, but wasn't able to do it.

Good idea not to go with a wrap, the shop will be able to point you in the right direction regarding the paint. I will say that for some reason I do not like it as much with the lens installed, but that is just my opinion. I would definitely try them on the car before deciding on anything.
I do like the concept!

Be wary using vinyl wrap or Hydrodipping. Lots of info here on the forum where it's not holding up. If the environment doesn't get them the heat build up inside the light does. BTDT with several mod experiments.

I appreciate all the comments.
Overall it basically looks like what it is...a decal. It needs more depth and I'm hoping I can achieve that with just paint.
It's been fun and as time permits, I'll experiment with some gloss/matte wraps and maybe a pinstripe outline just to see if I can get a look I really like and as weather permits (car under cover outside and we're looking at the 20's right now), will mount. If it then look 'right' - will commit to stripping it down some and painting. Will post along the way.

I originally planned on going all black and if the hl were smaller (I imagine a sharper bottom line across upper 'ribbed' area), it'd be done. At certain angles, it looks to me like a large eye with a pupil and no iris - guess I'm looking for that iris...my apologies for getting 'artsy'

I honestly had to look at the pic twice just to see what was actually done different, that to me will be the problem, you go to all that trouble and most will never even notice it. My car as most of you know is heavily moded and a lot of the small but very expensive detail for the most part simply goes unnoticed. Now Im not suggesting go bling crazy, just saying sometimes its not worth the time, money, and or effort if it goes unnoticed, good or bad.
