At best its a guess.
We know the total number of cars produced.
We know the total number of cars painted XXX color.
We know the total number of cars with XXX option or interior color.
So if they make 10000 cars and 1000 are silver then 10% are silver.
Again if they make 10000 cars and 1000 have red interior than 10% of cars had red interior.
So if 1000 cars were silver and 10% of total production had red interior than best guess is 10% of silver cars had red interior or 100 cars were silver with red interior or .1%. Thats about as close as you can get to figuring out certain combo's.
My 11 GS vert in IOM is one of 134 total GS verts in IOM. Its a heritage package car which 30% of GS verts in 11 got. Beyond that its nothing special(black top, A6, black interior), but IOM plus heritage package makes it possibly 1 of 40 or .002% of total production(40 of 13596)... I could probably break it down further, but its a fairly rare car... Will that amount to anything in the long run? Doubtful. But its nice to know its not just another black or red(most common Corvette colors) car and is slightly more rare.

The "X% divided by Y% gives you a reasonable guess at Z%" calculation is highly flawed. How many 2012 yellow, orange, and carbon flash had red interiors? Close to 0 I'm sure. How much more likely is a red car going to have a red interior than a Carlisle blue? Very likely.
What we know for sure is 4.9% of 2012 vettes have a red or black/red interior. What common sense says is red, black, and white exterior vettes took a huge chunk of that percentage. So the "0.4% 48" was either a joke, or he knows a secret, or he's full of ****.

Right. It's all just a guess when you start combining options. Yet guys keep doing it.

You could always come up with a better answer smart ***.... No wait. you didn't.
The numbers came from the official 2012 production numbers and break downs. You don't like it, tuff ****.

yes....but probably pretty good one. Nothing is ever going to be exact from our GM brothers. I couldn't believe there would be one Carlisle blue with red anything...But I can't believe it on Admiral blue either but I seen em...

Well everyone, here’s the link he sent me: https://my.chevrolet.com/login
I’m just a noob, so I’ll need help. As soon as someone finds the area on that site (or any other website for that matter) that shows there were 48 carlisle blue corvettes built with red interiors, please let me know. I’ll have to reply and apologize in the morning since I need to go to bed and have my dead mother tuck me in.

She's over here right now and told me to tell you it's past your bed time. She said don't forget to brush your teeth and she'll be home in the morning. I'll drop her off on my way to work so she should be there at 7:10 - 7:15 AM.

I'm not a fan of red interior. If you like it, go for it and enjoy the ride.
