Agree. I had a Vararam and went back to stock. It added no seat-of-the-pants power and the filter sealing was poor.

Search the forum for "stock filter mod". You can open the stock box. Keep in mind less restrictive means only at speeds you probably won't drive your car, anyway.

For the LS2, which is what you have, the Vararam is the best bang for the buck. Mine has already been tuned and I noticed added crispness in the throttle response after adding the Vararam. For the LS3, stock is best, especially if the mod is done by propping to allow access to outside air.

That's probably true for an LS3 and up, but the LS2 can benefit from an after market air intake system. I've had good results with the AirRaid system.
