OP, you do not want a shiny dash in a C6. Reflection of the dash on the windshield would be terrible.
Great thanks. The dull look works for me.

don’t waste your time lol. They know what their doing Lolol.

Me personally I like to use the 303 and then touch up with a dry towel Ever now and then. And the 303 doesn’t leave a shine. But I’ll always put a protectant on. But that’s me.

I have been using Adams leather protector (I know the dash isn't leather) it has good UV protection but does leave some "shine". I will give 303 a try in the spring, something that leaves a matte finish would be great.

Adam's Interior Detailer in place of the Leather Conditioner would get you UV protection and a matte finish...………………..

I used nothing but Adam's Leather Conditioner on my 02, and nothing but it on my 13. The 02 still looked showroom new when I traded it in 2012, and my 13 still looks brand new. Not saying there aren't other products out there, just telling you with an SPF of 45, it did a great job protecting them from fading from the sun, drying out, and separating. I use it on the seats, doors, steering wheels, etc. Good stuff. No reason to use anything else for me.

I've owned domestic and European cars. I have or had some of the more expensive Euro Marques made, from BMW M cars, MB, Jaguars R cars, and a Bentley GT. If I opened any of these owner's manuals to "Interior Care", covered up the brand name and quoted the contents you wouldn't be able to tell them apart. They all sound like this:

A soft cloth dampened with water may be used to remove
dust. If a more thorough cleaning is necessary, a clean
soft cloth dampened with a mild soap solution can be
used to gently remove dust and dirt. Never use spot lifters
or removers on plastic surfaces. Many commercial
cleaners and coatings that are sold to preserve and
protect soft plastic surfaces may permanently change
the appearance and feel of the interior and are not
recommended. Do not use silicone or wax-based
products, or those containing organic solvents to
clean the vehicle’s interior because they can alter the
appearance by increasing the gloss in a non-uniform
manner.
Some commercial products may increase gloss on the
instrument panel. The increase in gloss may cause
annoying reflections in the windshield and even make it
difficult to see through the windshield under certain
conditions.

A few year's back I ruined a Jaguar Vanden Plas leather interior because I got caught up in a popular aftermarket "leather conditioner", the one that is oil based and instructs to soak the leather seats with their conditioner then park the car out in the Sun for hours to "warm up the leather" so their oil is absorbed into the hides....BIG MISTAKE!.

It took me a while to quit being "hard headed" and succumbing to the "aftermarket marketing", and realizing all these owner's manuals might have a point; and, no, they're not all planning in obsolescence to trick owners into replacing their interiors after a few years.

I have ceramic film on my windshield to protect the dash from UV rays. I use a damp cloth to clean dash.

Have non of you you ever seen an old cars dash pad? That’s from no no protection. But it’s your car. So you do what you do. And I’ll protect mine.

So for the OP. You make up your own mind protected or not.
How old? Cars from the 70's and 80's? I would think since then auto manufacturers came up with better materials or a way to negate the damaging effects of uv rays. My daily driver 2000 Deville is now 20 years old and that dash looks brand new. Granted there are exceptions to the rule but I think for the most part of it your looking into this too much.

I used mothers VLR to clean it up when I bought it and it worked great. Spray, microfiber it in, wait a minute and then buff off. For interior I really like it especially for like $7 for a thing of it.
