Default Headlight Lenses Fogging up Again... Why...

Hello All,
My 2005 headlight lenses went very bad foggy, I tried redoing them with kits, sanding polishing etc, it helped greatly but wasn't perfect.

I replaced them with a $300 set of lenses and did all the labor myself, within 8 months those are now peeling and going bad very fast...

I don't want to spend $1200... but I'll happily spend up to $600 to get this nightmare over with, Is there any way I can finally solve this problem for good? Did I just buy a crappy set of lenses? If so can someone point me to a tested tried and true vendor where I can buy these that I will only have to change once for the next few years without them going bad.

I've considered buying the new c7 style headlights just to be done with this problem, but 1200+ is just too much for headlights imo

Is it fogging up or getting that hazy oxidation look?

I recently replaced the lenses on mine with $135 ebay ones. Don't know how long those will last.

Re your existing C6 light fixtures, I suspect ambient air is somehow circulating inside the fixture (leaks).

Moisture on the inside is not uncommon under certain weather conditions. The lenses are not air tight.
Afterthought..it appears you may be referring to the outside surface.

I bought new lenses to replace my yellowed daily driver ones, but for kicks I got out some Ajax and a wet sponge last night, and after about 10 minutes total, they look like new (on the outside).

Could not believe it did so well, for a short term fix.

Will still replace them, but may be worth a try for you, if your outsides are yellowed or foggy.

RL Sebring is a forum vendor and has been providing quality lenses for the C6 longer than anybody else.

I've found that the rubber caps covering the bulbs behind the headlight tend to wiggle out and fall off on mine. This caused some dust and hazing to form inside the lens.

With the peeling/oxidation outside on the lens, where did you buy the lens kit from? It's Is thing parked in the sun all the time?
