I am going to install my new ZR1 type spoiler tomorrow. I watched the instructional video and fell ready for the challenge. One question not addressed by the vidao, what is the bolt size for the third tail lights. I am guessing 10mm but want to be sure. You can't see it and I would hate to strip it with a close but wrong socket. Thanks, will be posting photo's soon!

I recently replaced my factory GS duck bill spoiler and its 10mm. Check the size of the bolts/nuts/washer on the new spoiler. Mine was 11mm so I couldn't use the factory bolt/nut assembly which was not big deal.
Read it again. Does not ask for spoiler bolt size. Asks for third tail light bolt size which has to be swapped from old to new spoiler. Easily done with spoiler off. 7 mm or less.

Sorry for the confusion. The bolts that attach to the studs on the under side of the factory black wicker bill type spoiler. After removing the 4 round tail lights, I will need to take off the third tail light, what would be the right deep dish socket for removal.

Suggestion. Tape off around the edge of your OEM spoiler on the body of your car while you take off the old one. Unplugging the 3rd brake light is not always the easiest while the spoiler is loose. Take your time..

Great advise that this one is why I always check here before doing tasks on my car, even not too complicated jobs like this one. My car and my paint thank you for your suggestion!!!!!!!!
You also will probably need to remove about 1/16" of material from the front of the rectangular opening where the 3rd brake light connector goes... needs just a hair more clearance for the edge of the connector & wires to go through. You'll see what I mean when you do a dry fitment on the new spoiler... a flat file will do...
When I installed mine, I went with fender washers as I did not like the ones that came with the ZR1 spoiler. Also wrapped my tail lights in old micro fiber towels as they hung down on paint at bumper. This part may have been in the video, it's been a while since install. Good luck.

This is excellent advice. Thanks. Also remove bulb socket from light housing by twisting it out. Eliminates lights from hanging on bumper even though wrapped. Also excellent advice from other poster.
