Default Chevrolet USA-1 License plate from 1972

Hi Everybody,

Two months ago my 91 year old dad surprised me with a gift. Some 46 years ago, I took the Chevrolet USA-1 plate off my newly purchased 1972 Corvette. I really don't know why I did that, but I am so grateful my dad kept the plate all of these years. I'm visiting my parents next weekend, so I thought I'd display the plate for my mom and dad. Hopefully the State of Texas won't arrest me for an improper front license plate! An equally amazing thing is how close the blue letters on the license plate are to the Carlisle Blue paint. I guess it was meant to be.

I love that and I wish Chevy would bring that campaign back but in today's political climate it would probably pi** off half the population!

Nice...it's bringing a pretty penny on e-bay.

That’s way cool that he kept that plate for 47 years. It looks nice on your C6. My late brother had one of those plates (or similar plate) on his Z/28 back in 1977. The local police cited him for “Ficticious Front LP”. Good luck. (I’d keep your regulation plate onboard just in case you need it!)

I have the original one from my 69 Chevelle. Bought it new right out of the Navy. It's hanging in my garage. Also part of the reason I have that as my current license plate on my Vette. You have a great treasure to keep from your dad.

That's a cool license plate. I hate front plates, but that's cool, haha.
