Need new tires and have narrowed it down the following 2: Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP or the Firestone Fire hawk Oval RFT. Car is a 2006 base convertible with the magnetic ride control. I do not track the car but it is a daily driver. I do some spirited driving on back roads when I get the chance, but nothing crazy. While I have never cared for Firestone tires I understand they have improved over the years. As usual I appreciate any info from the members that have used either one of these. Thank you and SAVE THE WAVE
Love my ZPs. Had them on about 4,000 miles. Ride is decent, wet and dry traction are very good. Steering response is sharp. Quieter than the GYs that were on it.
I've had Super Sports on several cars and they are a great tire, I currently have Hankooks on my 08 base and for half the price they seem to be as good.
FWIW My driving pattern is similar to the OPs. I like the assurance of RFT. FS will last over 15K mileage if not 30K.
I have the same comments about FS as Tx above has about the ZPs, except I am on my second set of FS.
I've had the Pilot Super Sports on my '13 427 and '16 Z06 and have been really happy with them. My only complaint is traction suffers in cold weather, but I bet that could be said of almost any tire. No personal experience with the FS, but have read a lot of people like them on here.
I loved my BF Goodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S that I had on my Camaro. I wish they made them in sizes to fit my Grand Sport, but unfortunately they don't. They are All Season Ultra High Performance Tires and they are very reasonably priced. They aren't run flats though, if you are wanting that.
Stoneys on my 06 vert. Nice tire at a cheaper cost. Relatively quiet.....handles well.....looks good. Good all-round tire. My only issue with them is that they don't roll over the wheels outside lip/edge enough to cover the rough hard edge. Not that big a deal and it may just be my particualer wheels, but some may not like it enough to keep them from buying.
I also have a 2006 3lt base with the Z51 option and when I bought it the dealer installed the Firestone tires and at the time I wasn't a fan of Firestone but, after 28k miles may opinion of the changed and I would definitely consider them when it's time for replacement.
Love the Firestones, this is the first set for the vette, but I have gone through two sets on my 04 silverado and got 60k per set with tread left over. Obviously the Firestones on the silverado were a more aggressive tread for off road.
On the vette they seem to be wearing fine at 10k so far and I drive the hell out of the car....
45K on the FS's, DD the car year around. Could of gotten more miles, but a `Jersey pot hole cut and swallowed a sidewall. Had about 4 to 5/32 inch tread left. Replaced them with the same ones.

Can you really go wrong with any high performance tire for the Corvette?
Both your choices will be great.
Hankooks were on my C6 when I bought the car, work great.
Goodyear & Cooper are the only American tire companies.
