It's Official (almost)!
Heading to OKC tomorrow for my very first vette- a C6Z! Making the long trek home to NH over the weekend trying to dodge the snow.
Plan to to do H/C/I when the deep freeze up here ends- praying to the engine gods I dont drop a valve on the way home. Cam + heads will also be a first for me but I think I'm up to the challenge after hours of research.
If you see an idiot driving a VY Z in the snow- that'd be me.

LOL....Good luck! I think you're going to be traveling with the storm if I'm not mistaken?
I'm doing a similar trek myself this weekend, except I'm picking mine up in Philly and driving it to the South. I just need to clear Philly and it should be smooth sailing from there. Here's the car I'm picking up. It's from Atomic Fred on these forums, looking forward to meeting him and his wife....and to my "new to me" C6!
Be safe!!!

Based on forcast I'll hit snow arriving into St. Louis where I'm stopping for the night. Plan to head north towards Cleveland and skirt the great lakes through NY. Normally that's snow city but looks like the storm is staying south.
Love the AO color of your vette!! Enjoy the trip and your new addition.

Don't forget to eat some ribs when you get to Kansas City though!!
But seriously...drive carefully...and don't risk your new purchase just to make time. If it gets too bad you should think about renting a U-haul pick up with a car trailer....that's my Plan B.

That's a massively brilliant idea renting the uhaul truck and trailer. Thanks for that!

Good luck to both of you and please drive careful. If you get those things in snow with uhp summer Tires they are positively dangerous. Especially if it's your first time driving a Corvette, that would not be my first choice to drive them in the snow. Most especially that Z given what tires I think it has on it.
Be careful.

Any pictures of your new ride by any chance?

Just watching the 10:00 PM weather forecast for OKC. Light icing and freezing drizzle and 30 degrees around 7:00 AM and moving NE up the Turner Turnpike to Tulsa around 8:00. Does not look too bad just stay weather aware on your trip.

Thank you sir. Native Northeasterner here so fairly versed in winter driving for past 34 years. But a z06 with summers is about as bad as it gets in winter weather...probably my last choice too.

Appreciate the forward report. I'll be heading northwest around 12-1pm. Hopefully the daylight melts that ice. Hoping to make STL by 8 pm.

I would recommend checking out Joe's Kansas City BBQ, the original location is near KU Med in a gas station, but their are two other locations in Leawood, KS, and Olathe, KS which are suburbs of Kansas City. You really can't go wrong, with BBQ in Kansas City, so Gates, Jack Stack, etc. are all good.

Well, I'm on the road... Holy cow this car moves and stands out like a sore thumb... I love it!
Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions, tips, and well wishes.
I'll throw a post on here now and again during the trip. About 50 miles from Joplin Missouri right now.
