Alrighty then. Now hunkered down at a motel just north of Springfield Missouri. Easily the worst road conditions I think I've ever experienced.

Let's see... car have never driven before with bald summer tires no visibility, coated in ice, semis whizzing by at 60 miles an hour.

Was completely sideways twice. a Christmas miracle I actually managed to get off the highway in one piece.
May go for that U-Haul option after all.

Wow glad you are safe. I just watched a video on l70 in MO of a huge pileup. Well you will have a story to tell. Safe travels on the rest of your adventure driving home.

Keep your eyes on the road, man. Here's some road music for you.

Road conditions have been horrible in Kansas City the last couple days. And several times in the last couple months.

I'm glad you're hunkered down by Springfield for the moment.

OMFG! Dude.....you really want to wreck your new car!!! U-Haul it and just return the truck and trailer when the conditions improve....then drive off into the sunset...well...into the sunrise I guess since you're driving East.

That's what you get when ***** > brains.

Does anyone know if you can even get a vet on a U-Haul car trailer? Doesn't look like there's much clearance for tow straps either.

And we're back on the road, roads are about 95% clear and making good time

Remind me not to do this again. seriously though short of the trauma of last night, what a nice car to drive. So far no regrets on the purchase.

Just take it slow and watch out for others not seeing you.

At least it's a trip you'll never forget!

Ice still on mirrors from ice storm
Roads are significantly better the further north of Springfield. Made it to downtown St. Louis in about 2.5 hours. Looks like clear sailing onto Indianapolis and then to Cleveland. Hoping to make it to at least Erie, hopefully buffalo tonight.

Thanks again to you all for keeping me company!

Vette_Guy just headed out of Chadds Ford PA with the Atomic C6. I expect him to have a much less "eventful" trip than the aptly-named Viking

Here he is taking delivery in lovely weather that I hope stays for him through Charleston

You can tell who's heading south by the choice of clothes...

Made it as far as Erie PA...that's all I've got in the tank for today. Speaking of which, averaged just about 27mpg for the trip. Impressive for a 500hp car I'd say.

Hoping to check out niagra falls on the way through buffalo tommorow.

Glad to see you're clear of the storm and safe!

As you can see in the picture above I took possession of my "new to me" C6 from Fred today. I just rolled into Charleston about a half hour ago, what a great car it is Fred!
