Ignition on/off

Noob here... Don't have access to my owner's manual at the moment... how do I know if the ignition is on or off on my '09 before I go messing around in the fusebox? Thanks.

It's off unless you push and hold the bottom of the start switch for at least 5 seconds.

Hold the bottom of the button again for 5+ seconds until the lights go off and the dash goes dark when the door opens.

Thanks for the link. BTW, my Z51 is unfortunately 1LT. Would it be an overwhelming effort to find and install a Telescoping steering wheel? Thanks. (Sorry for the abrupt topic shift, nobody seems to want to field this one).
